Craig

Craig’s Story

Craig was homeless, unemployed, and a new resident of California. He was eager to learn how to acquire new skills, and received career services at the Ohlone College Tri-Cities Career Center.

While he was there, he received transportation assistance, online training, mock interviews, and access to job fairs and employers looking to hire.

Through the comprehensive services he received, Craig was employed as a Project Manager!

Cynthia

Cynthia’s Story

Cynthia was a well-established law professional before she hit a rough patch in her life. She was living in a supportive living environment before she was referred to career services in the North Cities at the College of Alameda. 

Her Career Counselor worked with her to boost her confidence, develop career strategies, and secure work clothing. Her Counselor also connected her to an internship opportunity at a Law Firm that later turned into a paid employment opportunity!

Anthony’s Story

Anthony was determined to move forward in his life and enrolled at the Hayward Adult School to complete his GED and was also a Youth Enrichment Services participant. With the help and support of YES program staff, Anthony completed his GED, and enrolled in YEAR-Up to become a Computer Engineer. Congratulations Anthony!
