Alameda County Workforce Investment Board’s (ACWIB) “Career Readiness Program” offers services to In-School and Out-of-School Youth. Youth programs are based on providing education and employment services to youth, ages 16 through 21 (residents of Alameda County outside the City of Oakland). The Career Readiness Program emphasizes individual support services that include tutoring, career exploration, college transition, work readiness, job search assistance, job shadowing and internships. You may be eligible if you are:
- Youth ages 16-21
- Economically disadvantaged
- Gang member/associate
- At risk of dropping out of high school/ or dropped out
- Graduated from High School, but continues to seek employment
- Pregnant/Parenting teen
- Youth with disabilities
